Sticky giving it gas.

My dad does not own a firebird or camaro but he has a TPI engine in his corvette and the gas pedal is extremly sticky, when i say sticky, i mean the first push of the gas is the hardest, When first giving it gas, it is hard to make it go slow, some might say that is a good thing but is is definatly not. it often makes it hard to park because of the jump after the first push. this only happens when the car is running. The car is a stock 350 TPI with a 700r4. Any help is greatly appriciated. TIA
Dennis

Have him disconnect the TV/Cruise/Throtte cables and try opening the TB by hand first, if okay, start tugging on the cables to see which is binding.

FWIW, I have a brand "F" prodcut that does the same thing, but the Brand "F" has a coated TB, coating is worn, causing theb lades to stick...TPIs (as far as I know) have no caoting in the inside.

Also, very cool you Dad has a Vette...my folks (68 and 69) do so as well...ofcourse I'm the one working on it right now for them to drive next weekend.

Thanks for the responce, I will have to try what you said, that makes sence that one of the cables can be holding it back.
Thanks
