I'm having problems with the white "UFO" looking valve that allows air to go into the fuel tank. Seems it's leaking. This just started after installing my holley 255lph pump. I've tried it with the charcoal can on and off hoping to vent out more fumes, but it doesn't seem to help. Was wondering if I could leave in the charcoal system to vent the fumes, block off the "UFO" valve and then get a vented gas cap to take the place of it? I plan on getting a new one, but I need to drive the car tonight and since I live in BFE I can't get a new one in for a couple of days. Also, I thought at one time that I had the vapor and return lines crossed at the tank, but I don't have any fuel coming out of the vapor line in the engine bay, so I'm assuming that they are on correct. Any suggestions would help. Thanks.

Just an opinion, but it's going to be a lot easier to simply restore the system to its original design than try to reinvent it. It will likely be a lot more effective, too.

 

What makes you think the valve is leaking?
