quick CTS question

If a coolant emp sensor was wired backward, would it still function properly? - I replaced the pigtail w/ a new acdelco, and it wasn't color coded. I just figured out that I crossed the wires...

Shouldn't matter, its just a thermistor (variable resistor based on temperature).
