There were only 2 305s available during this time. There were the 230 horse dual cat cars, and then there was the peanut cammed single cat cars. Either engine was available with the 5 speed and the automatics only got the peanut cammed LB9. However when they switched to Speed Density I thought they all got the same cam and all made 230 horse?

Thats what I thought too...well all the 5 speed cars I should say. But according to the tech data here only G92 cars have the good cam? Just looking for clarification on this, how rare are the G92 cars?

well the one optioned non G92 1990 cars 305 was 210hp at 4400rpms and 285lbft at 3200

91 non G92 cars 305 was 205hp at 4200rpm. and 285lbft at 3200rpms

the G92 305's tho, made the same 230hp but the 90's made it at 4400rpms while the 91's made it at 4200rpms.

i'm not sure what changed, maybe the tune? makeing peak power now abit lower in the rpm range. the 305 with teh same cam should peak higher than the 350 u would think.. but it doesnt
