Another A.I.R. Question

Did a search..found some stuff....didn't find what I was looking for. I plan on removing the A.I.R. system on my 91 Z. We don't have emmissions here...so no worries about that. Both cats are gone, I plan on getting rid of the A.I.R. pump and getting the pulley that GM offers. The question I have is this:
There is a box with a few black hoses going to it....is that part of the A.I.R. system? Can I just get rid of the black box and plug the hoses up....or? Here is where the "box" is located:

Air diverter valve. Scrap it and get some headers with no tubes or put pipe plugs in place of the factory ones.

i plan on doing the same thing but i searched for more stuff like this and some one said it will make the car run rich, but others say it is just dead weight.... also theres a tube that runs to the cat i unplugged it one day to see if theres a differnce and performance wise i got the same numbers with my g-tech.

If I remember right removing the air pump will actually make the car run leaner since the computer is figuring in the added are from the pump.

Both cats have been removed for over 2 years now..I just never got around to removing the A.I.R. pump....but the car has ran fine for as long as the cat's have been gone.
