Aluminum Vs Cast Iron
As some of you know, I've been looking for new heads for a while now...
I'm leaning toward Iron Eagle 180cc/64cc chambers.
However, I noticed that Dart makes a Pro 1 180cc heads.
These are aluminum and seem very comparable.
The problem is, when I ask people about aluminum heads, all I hear are horror stories about warpage, busted head gaskets, and that using them on a cast iron block is a bad idea. I'm wanting to get an increase of HP/TQ in the low and mid-range (I'm not worried about the top end since I'm using TPI).
Are aluminum heads on a TPI Firebird 350 a bad idea???
I assumed by now the technology has advanced and gotten beyond some of the old problems, but maybe I am wrong?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

aluminum heads on cast blocks has been done for YEARS. Minimal problems(personally never seen any w/ many motors this way). - One of the best things about aluminim heads is that you can run more compression due to the better heat dispersion of aluminum. More compression=easy extra hp.
