Hsr / Egr

I have a question please. Has anyone passed an emission test with a HSR without some kind of EGR mod like someone sugested with a LT1 remote egr? The reason I am currious is that most of the emission guys just seem to look for the converter and the smog pump and dont even seem to know where the EGR is on our cars.....lol. And I am sure with some tuning that you can make one pass the sniff test without it, so has anyone made this happen, I know I could fab something up but it would be a PITA to do and I think it would take away from the clean look of the STEALTH RAM. Also the set up I am going to be running for now so I pass the test is a highly ported base/ HOGGED OUT SLP runners/ and moded plenum, but really want something that will pull higher in the RPM range to take advantage of my heads/cam combo. I only have enough cash to cover this project to change to a HSR and cant afford the high end stuff like the FIRST system or accel super ram set up at this point, also does anyone think the accel base is worth the money for a nice used one, and does it really work better than a very moded stock base. Sorry for so many questions but I trying to make a good decission through some of the more experianced TPI guys around here. Thanks a bunch for your help.

It "technically" is illegal to delete egr if it was equipped as such from the factory and your not swapping to a same year or newer powerplant with full emissions for said powertrain swap intact.

That being said, it 99-1 depends on your local laws and how they are enforced.

U can do lots of mods and your own tuning on vehicles and they will indeed pass smog running cleaner and with less emissions than stock.

If they look under the hood, your gonna have a problem. If u build a wisely picked package for the street and run a competent tune, you shouldnt have any emission issues whatsoever provided u run a cat, at least for the test.

Thats what I thought, and like I said, the guys around here I dont think have ever looked at it, they seem to check the cat/pump/gas cap and then put the sniffer on it, so I may take a chance and do one and keep my other set up as a back up just in case, but the part that sux is that you can make one run cleaner than a stock unit and still have a problem with the e-cops. I would be proud if everyone in America could do a mod on there car and help slow emissions. Has anyone been able to pull this off? Not trying to beat the system I just really want a HSR set up and if better quality air comes with it, thats just a bonus... Thanks for your help, and if anyone can give me more info to let me know this can be done I would be very greatful.
