305-350 Tpi ?
i have a 305 TPI in my iroc right now but i have a 350 out of our 67 camaro that we are not going to use b/c we are putting an ls1 in it. the 350 has an intake and carb on it right now but id rather stay with the tpi. the bottom end is all stock as far as i know but i would like to put a cam in it and also put my 305 "081" heads on it b/c alot of ppl from what i hear use those heads on 350's. what kind of cam would you suggest for this setup? i might change to an ltl intake or something better than the tpi down the road but for right now will stick with the tpi. so would this be a good setup a stock bottom end 350 with good cam and the 081 heads and tpi setup?

Many many problems. The 69 engine is a flat-tappet cam with a two-piece rear main seal (where the flexplate/flywheel bolts on). Your current 305 is a roller cam with a one-piece rear main seal. Also, your 305 heads are 1083's, which are 58cc combustion chambers and small intake and exhaust ports. The 350 heads are 1081's with 64cc chambers and larger but not much better ports. With 305 heads on a 350 engine, you will have a much higher compression ratio, which will probably cause detonation with those iron heads. Also those heads on the 350 engine now have different intake bolt angles on the middle four bolts which wont line up with your later TPI intake. The 305 TPI has 19 lbs injectors and you'll probably want 22 lbs that come with 350 TPI's. Dont forget to get a computer chip for a 350 also from a 1988 350 IROC (cuz 89 and newer have VATS) or get a custom prom burned for your setup (NOT a Hypertech).
There is a lot of stuff to consider when swapping a 305 to a 350 and its even worse when trying to use an old-style ancient block from the 60's. Get yourself a later style (1987 or newer) with a roller cam and you'll have a better engine that will bolt up with your TPI easier.
