Wire in ECL or get scan tool. Input please.
I have picked up 67 Chevy Truck with TPI and 700R4. It does not have an Engine Check Light wired in. But it does have the ALDL port.
I’m not sure exactly what I’ve got yet. The PO said it was a 5.7TPI from an 84 IROC. But I know that can’t be right.
I’d like to be able to pull codes. I think that I need to figure out how to wire in an engine check light so I can do the jumper thing. Or buy a scan tool.
(Preferred) If I wire in a light, I need to know how. I’ll need a wiring diagram.
($$) If I get a scanner I need to know which one to get.
Input please.
Thanks,
Other info;
The numbers on the MAF are:
Bosch
0 280 213 002
14 081 243
The ECM appears to be after-market. The sticker reads:
BWD Automotive Products ECC 7165
OEM Reference;
1227165
16198259
16198445

Okay, I went for a ride and noticed that there was a light wired in there. So I tried the jumber thing and got nada. Not even the 12 to say it's doing it's thing.

Well, that would've been perfect. But whoever did the swap decided not to hook up the D' terminal to the ALDL connector.
