What is this???

I just bought my '89 Iroc, with the 350 tpi, my question is, on the right side exhaust manifold, there are some tubes coming out of the manifold, what are they and what will happen to them when I install headers?

I wish i could have a pic to show better what I am talking about

Part of the smog system ditch it all if you don't have emissions testing.

thats for the smog equiptment, the AIR system i believe its called, for the header question, many shorty headers come with them already installed or places to install those tubes. if u wanted long tube headers, well thats beyond my knowledge, hope that helps somehow
