header install ? about emmisions
im not sure where this thread goes so if it needs to be moved mods go ahead. i got my headers the other day and ive now got them sanded down and painted and ready to put on. the problem is they are non emmission headers and i need to take all the air crap off. my question is do i need a new belt or what? i read in the tech article that you need a longer one but after looking at the car and the picture of how it should be routed i am thinking i will need a shorter belt. ive searched this and a couple people said they used the stock belt which would be ideal for my situation.
Also ive seen pictures of people who have removed the air and they capped the tube that runs from the cat up to the pump, i would much rather remove mine how would i do that b/c i havent seen any that had been removed?
im ready to knock out this install this week so any help is greatly appreciated.

When I put my headers on I pulled all the A.I.R. crap off, but left the AIR pump and pulley on. It's been a few years and hasn't caused any problems. Just make sure you cap the air inlet on the pump so dirt doesn't get in it.
On a side note: If you want to sell the A.I.R. hoses, check valves and stuff let me know... They started emissions back up in my area and I need to put it all back on for visual inspection
