Ive been datalogging the car lately, just looking for anything out of the oridinary when i noticed my knock count was kind of high compared to that of my friend who has a 91 z l98. His knock count was around 5 after a good 15 minutes of driving where as mine is like 228 lol. The cars are two completely different cars though in all aspects, but still, i figure thats a bit high. Now i have a rebuilt motor, higher compression and what not. I was wondering if A. i should retard the timing alittle (im running 6 degrees base) and B. if i should be running a tad bit colder of a plug? or perhaps gap my plugs differently?..just trying to find the cause of this. I know when you up compression, you should run a bit colder of a plug (of coarse depending on the increase in compression). I am running 91 or 93 octane all the time as well. I have a 160 degree thermo, fans on all the time for the most part and the car runs around 190 degrees. "Tuned" by pcmforless. If you need any more info just ask..
i bet your tune is off.... its probly addin alot of timing. you could try bumping timing down alittle to see what happens
try 4 degrees and see if that helps...
then try the plugs. how high is your compression over stock?

not much...i want to say 10:1 i believe and yea i believe my tune is off too. I have the data log if anyone wants to take a look at it..
