Need some advice on 350 change over.

I'm replacing my tired 305 with a roller 350. I'm keeping the TPI.

What I have is a roller 350 with a ZZ4 pullout cam, flat top Hyper. pistons, completely rebuilt tpi with 22lb '03 Mustang GT injectors, and a set of 192 casting heads (I neglected to tell my builder that I didn't want that casting).

I have the auto tranny and 3.23 posi rear end.

What issues do I need to be looking for at this point and what can I expect from this motor as in idle quality, performance, etc.? This has been a four year long parts buying mission and I have been pushed into making a few rush decisions in the last week because the 305 was crapping out quick. I just want to make sure I don't make a mistake before I get the motor put in. Thanks in advance.

Hmm.... well can we get some idea of what kind of a setup you have with your 305? What year, MAF or MAP, just need a place to start before making rash decisions. Basically, it all depends on what you want to do with it, whether its street or strip or just something to tear up on the weekends. One thing you will hear a lot, junk those heads, or try to make ends meet with what you got. Post a little info to see what your working with.

Sorry, I was in a hurry and forgot to give you guys good info.

It's an '86 IROC so it is MAF system. I'm just looking for a good torquey motor for use on the street. This is actually my daily driver. I do Autocross some but need torque there too.

I'm not too worried about those heads as I won't be pulling enough rpm's to notice the drop off in flow. The budget is getting low now, too, so I'm prolly gonna have to make em work.

read this link; 305 TPI to 350 TPI Conversion

it should help you answer many questions on what you'll need to do/change.

...and good luck, I'll be doing a 350 conversion in the near future!

Does anybody have any experince with getting proms burned and have any suggestions on who's reputable? The company that used to do it here doesn't do it anymore.
