IAT Sensor and Coolant Temp Sensor the same?

I just made a run down to Advance Auto Parts to get a new IAT sensor (in back/bottom of the plenum) and they didn't have one in their parts directory ... only a coolant temp sensor ... which looks IDENTICAL. Can I use the Coolant Temp Sensor in place of the IAT? Does it have any functional difference from the IAT? Thanks!

Water temp, air temp, what's the difference?

I tend to doubt they would have different part numbers if they were the same sensor.

OK ... just found out for sure ... it's the same part #.

Although, the MAF cars have a different IAT sensor.
