Okay so there's this guy on a different camaro forum that swears up and down that an 85 TPI with an exhaust upgrade can run 300hp because they had a camshaft that is used in other motors and can boost power by 50hp..... someone please back me up on this so I can shut him up.

 

Number one, according to this page, they never made a 350 that year: https://www.thirdgen.org/1985-chevy-camaro
A 350 would be the only motor with even the REMOTE potential to do close to what he is claiming here.

Another thing, the camshaft for that year, although one of the biggest for the 3rd gen breed, wasn't much to be desired, if this is what he is making his claim on.

Also, check the page over, the highest rating Camaro of that year only had 215hp. I HIGHLY doubt that there is an exhaust kit on the market that boosts hp by 85...and if there is, then I just found my new Xmas present =D

Tell the guy hes a tool. I huge lying tool. He's another guy that wants everyone to think that he's the best. Tell him to come on this site and say that because we will all laugh at him. I if they make an exhaust kit good for that power my 383 will be way over 500.....What a moron!
