The L69 and TPI

I've searched for any threads dealing with this but have come up empty handed. Basically 2 questions:

1) What compatibility issues will I run into with installing a TPI on an '84 bird with L69 currently with 4BBL Carb (assuming it's possible)?

2) If I later plan to upgrade to a stroked 350, could I use a 350 TPI (22lb. injectors) and tune the setup to run in a 305 and later re-tune it when I get my stroked 350?

First thing I can think of is running a return line, and a different fuel pump. Then obviously there is the wiring harness and ECU. Otherwise, pretty straight forward?

Car: I've had 4 thrid gens!!
Engine: Someday again I will have another!!
There are some good deals on TPI parts on ebay right now. Its right after X-mas and no one is bidding on anything. Take a look at this auction it has almost everything, but ECM and wiring(seems cheap for what your getting though): http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/350-T...QQcmdZViewItem
You will have to decide if you want MAF or MAP system. I like the MAF system better, less tuning to worry about.
Will a TPI intake fit alright on his heads or does he have to modify the holes??
If you run a 350 or 305 you should just have to change injector sizes, chip, and knock sensor. The stock chips on the MAF cars work very well because the MAF reads the incoming air, so not as much tuning to do. -Nick.

I'm leaning more toward Speed density. Naturally I'll have to swap out the ECM, and wiring harness, but I was thinking more along the lines of intake manifold compatibility. I'm just not totally sure what the real differences are or how to go about modifying them if need be. I've heard things like different bolt patterns, to different bolt angles and different number of bolts. Can anyone shed some light on this? I planned on hitting the local yards this weekend to begin the project.

Shoudn't an '86 TPI intake bolt right up, because it uses the old style heads. I am not for sure what is different about the angle/number of bolts. If you do find a good deal on a MAF system it can always be converted to a MAP system. If you find a TPI system at a junk yard I would be surprised. Every yard I have been to has been picked over a long time ago. Good luck with your search. -Nick.
