Vortec 383 help...
Hey Guys, I currently have a stockish L98 that I plan on replacing with a 383. I already have a set of slightly used Vortec heads with .520 comp cams springs installed on them. Does anyone know of a decent stroker short block that can be had for reasonablly cheap? I would like to find something with a cam, flexplate, and balancer already installed to speed up the installation process. I also plan on getting the SDPC TPI base, SLP runners, SVO 24 lb. injectors, and SLP headers. I see strokers on the GM performance website but they are all $3,000 or more. Gustafen engines.com has cheaper 383's but they don't come with balancers or flexplates installed... Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!

That's all I know of.
Your cheapest option will be building your own with used parts. Get a junkyard 350 and a crank, pistons and re-use everything else that you can, like the rods, but with better rod bolts.
