Speed Density TBI to MAF TPI on a 350 bored .060 over

I've got a full TPI system from an L98 IROC for a pretty good price. I'm not trying to break records, just get decent gas mileage and have a nice streetable car with a little grunt.

Here's the question...

My TPI system is complete, EXCEPT FOR THE MAF SENSOR.

So I've got 2 options. This is gonna be thrown on the top of a 350 bored .060 over.

1. I can find a new MAF sensor, but from quick research, this can be pretty pricy.

2. I can convert over to Speed Density and reuse a lot of what I have on my 92 LO3.

THe problem is, I'm stupid when it comes to this electronic stuff, i"m ready to learn, but I dont have much of a foundation at the moment. If I repin to speed density and use my TPI setup, what am I going to have to replace? Im thinking I need a new chip, or can I reprogram mine somehow or what? That's what Im hazy on. If I repin it, what all am I going to need to do to make it work? Because the sticky thread is great, but I hit the limits of my knowledge pretty fast with it. Im guessing I can reuse most of the sensors I have on my LO3... or can I? Can I use the same MAP sensor and stuff?

And even then, assuming converting to speed density is the most cost effective option, speed density is supposedly less forgiving than MAF... so will speed density get upset at my slightly larger than 350 cubic inches motor?

Sorry for hte long-winded post. I know the information is out there, but I just have a hard time searching for it when Im not sure what to search for, and I just dont understand it all quite well enough to put the pieces together in my head. Thanks!

I would convert to Speed Density. I believe that there is an article on how to repin, check the Tech Article section on the home page here.

Check out TPIparts.net. They can convert you tbi harness to tpi speed density and it will be plug and play. They did mine and Im very happy with the outcome.

Will speed density care if I have .060 inches of extra bore? Everyone says Speed Density is a lot more sensitive than MAF.

But if I repin for speed density, I need to get an L98 speed density chip dont I?

Overbore? No, its not going to care. The factory tune is off more than any effects an overbore will have.
