maf function at wot ?
I have an 89 l98 stock engine. I have done the free mods , no cat , high flow muffler .
The car is strictly a track car so economy is not an issue .
My MAF sensor or relay is bad so I unhooked it to get it to idle right .My question is will this hurt my 1/4 mile times since it is in limp mode or is there a default for WOT which is all it will see.I need to know if I have to spend the $180 + or - on a MAF or can I go as is without a penalty ?
I have searched multiple boards and learned alot except the WOT part .
thanks in advance Mike

sorry man just spend the money and buy the part it isnt going to run better in limp mode if that was true everyone would run it like that. just look at the word "LIMP MODE" its so you can limp it home! Later Daniel

thanks for the reply Dan.
I know limp is to get you home but I did not know if ( hoped ) ( maybe ) there was a default at wot . I am trying to learn this cc stuff . So I guess the headers just got delayed

For a MAF car to run best, the MAF must be sending the correct signal to the ECM. Find out what the problem is, and buy a new part.
