Edelbrock High Flo and plenum questions/problems
I have an Edelbrock High Flo base and runners for earlier thirdgens. The runners are for the 9th injector style. My car is an 89 and does not run the 9th injector. Edelbrock runners have EGR tubes on each side and my plenum only has provisions for one tube. I know I will have to make a block off plate for the 9th inj. port. I was taking a closer look at it and the gaskets all together and have noticed the side with the extra tube will end up venting to the atmosphere cause the plenum has no material where the tube is supposed to enter the at. I am assuming that I will have to block off the whole thing ( EGR tube and injector hole). Is there a reason Edelbrock made the runners with two tubes? Is this for the earlier years? Is there a set of runners for the later years with only one tube? Any insight would be great.

Yes, there are runners for 85-88 engines and 89-92 engines. Try to find someone to trade with, or find a way to block the hole.

I know there are different ones for the 9th start injector hole. My question is will the ones for the 89-92 engines only have one air/egr tube or two?? I see that the edelbrock gasket kit comes with five lower gaskets. I am assuming one for with 9th injector and one without?

The casting is made with both tubes, but the 89-92 runners have the driver's side 9th injector tube blocked off.
Be careful when installing Edelbrock runners, as its very easy to install them reversed (driver's side on passenger side and vice versa).

I actually am planning on installing them in reverse due to the passengers side runner having a blemish towards the front. I will put it on the drivers side to hide it from plain view. I have made an egr block off plate for the runner going on the drivers side and I have made a block of plate to block the 9th injector hole only on the runner going to the passengers side, but the tube will remain open to the plenum.
I am hoping to break into the 13.70s with the combination in my sig. Plus the new edelbrock intake with porting, 24# injectors and 52mm TB. That'll be about half second faster than the 14.22 I am running now.
Thanx
