SES light doesn't flash
I just replaced the white plastic that holds the gages because the one I had the SES quit working.
Now the SES light comes on after driving a very short distance. When I try to pull the codes the SES light doesn't flash at all, just stays on. I'm sure I am doing this correctly (many years of experience).
I did a search and couldn't find any thread with this same issue after 5 pages.
ty for your help

Re: SES light doesn't flash
I had the same problem with the SES not flashing right after I purchased one of my rides.
Along with a few other problems too.
Removed a ADS superchip from the computer and most problems got cured.
Codes flashed like they should.
Guess the chip went bad.

Re: SES light doesn't flash
This could mean you have a bad ECM. When the light comes on do you feel a great loss of power? When you try to pull codes, try turning the key off, leave it off for about 10 seconds. turn it to run. the light should flash on, off, then solid on. If it doesn't, I'd suspect a bad connection to the ECM or a bad ECM.
My stock ECM had a bad connection somewhere internally, so the light would come on when the connection came undone, and if i hit the panel the ECM is in with an open palm, the light would go away. Not saying this would work for you, but ECMs do weird things when they go out.
try taking out the ECM, tighten up the prongs in the connectors with tweezers and spray some contact cleaner on them.

Re: SES light doesn't flash
the 2 on the top/right (a&b, I think)
fireball451 > pretty sure this car is stock, I just got it in late Jan.
When the light comes on do you feel a great loss of power? no & if I drive at a speed of +35 for more than a couple of blocks, it goes off
try turning the key off, leave it off for about 10 seconds. turn it to run. the light should flash on, off, then solid on. I'll give that a try
if it doesn't work I'll pull the ECM as you suggested
Thank you everyone for replying, tried posting this in the Electronics board 2 hours before I posted here & I still have no replies
