Depends on what cam you are running.. 52 mm would be okay for stock 350.. that is what i HAD, anything bigger and i would go get a 58mm tb. I have a 58 for sale BTW, email if interested.

A 52mm Throttle Body is good for the baddest of 350's. They flow 850+ cfm on average and that is dry flow. Larger motors like 383's can see an improvement from a 58mm TB, but it is a small improvement. The big throttle bodys make big numbers like "1000 cfm" and this impresses people and they buy. A stock throttle body with an airfoil will support 400+ horsepower on a 350 engine. The new 502 bigblock crate motor from G.M. makes over 500 HP with a 48mm TPI throttle body. Yes thats right, 500+hp with the same throttle body that comes stock on YOUR tuned port F-Body.

Karl from hunter mortersports, thanks for putting the larger TB question to rest. i have read just about every TPI performance book thats been printed and they all share the same feeling about different sized TB's. i almost fell victem to the belief that bigger is better but after research relized it would be a waste of money that i could have been saving for new heads.

Yes, more people should consider heads as one of their first mods. If you add up all the money to change the base, runners and TB, you would have spent damn near as much money as a decent set of heads and won't have the same performance gain.
