I have a main knock :(
I have a main knock :(
Well guys I was informed that I had a main knock on cylinders 3 or 4. I knew I had it because at times I can actually hear it. They estimate only about 20k miles left in it before it lets go. Does that sound about right???

You might want to consider a heavier weight oil as well. It will help cushion the knocking if it is a journal bering.
If you have an oil pressure guage unusually low oil pressure is also indicitive of a worn bearing.

I do have low oil pressure at times. Sometimes it is about 15 then other time it runs at a constant 25 or so. My mechanic said there was a short in the guage which caused that. As soon as I nail it thought the oil pressure goes up to 60.
