Just out of curiosity any idea as to why there is such a wide variety of times on my last post about Normally aspriated 5.0 and 5.7's Extinsively modded 350's only running mid to low 14's and almost completely stock running 14.2's or so??? What is up with that??? Thanks to all those who responded and all those who haven't please do.

Production tolerances. MAF vs SD. Dual cat vs single cat. 2.73s vs 3.27s or 3.42s. Mileage. State of tune. Small cam 305 TPI vs L98 cammed 305 TPI.

Those are just some of the factors. Production tolerances are a big one. Some engines are just destined to be faster than others. Some left the factory with lower than optimal fuel pressure, which made them slow while stock, and respond poorly to mods until the fuel pressure is adjusted.

That is what I thought but when I made a post about production variences and not soo tight quality control I got jumped on by about 4 people saying what do you mean GM lacks quality control. They have great vehicles and that is just what I was thinking
