where can I move knock sensor to?

I have a '92 TPI on an old style flat tappet block ('79 I think) stuffed in a Jeep YJ. Still have a few other issues to work out also but first...I am going to change to center dump headers which obviously hits the knock sensor. A guy told me drill and tap the fuel pump block off plate and screw it in there and someone else told me it would screw in the back of the head but he didn't think it would pick up there. Any suggestions?
thanks
jeff

The fuel pump block off plate sounds like a good idea. Im pretty sure it has to be on the bottom end in order for it to pick up a knock like the other guy said.

Knock sensor were factory mounted on back of heads on some engines, so why wouldnt they pick up the knock there?

If you have a welder, you can weld a nut onto the engine block just about anywhere you want(I'd stay as close to original spot as possible), and then just screw it onto the nut. I have done this before and it works fine.

You can move it just about anywhere, but you might have to deal with changes in sensitivity.

The knock sensor needs to in a similar location to stock to provide a correct response to knock/vibration. The sensor needs to go directly into the outer block wall and into the water jacket.

Screwing it into the back of the head isn't an option with the stock thirdgen knock sensor anyways since it's a pipe thread size. The holes in the back of the head are SAE 3/8-16. I've read quite a few posts on here where people have drilled/tapped the fuel pump block off plate and put it there with good results.
