K&N FI system
Will the K&N Fuel Injection air intake kit work on a 86 IROC w/305 TPI? I think it says it will work with the 350 TPI, but it doesn't say about the 305 TPI.

K&N doesnt make a FIPK for the thirdgen cars, only the 4th gens. You might be able to make it work, but I dont know anyone who tried.

Ok, my fault, I misread the info. It does only say 4th gen, but it says for FI and with MAF sensor, so it should theoretically work, right?? I wonder if anybody has ever done this. I just like the setup, I hate having the stock setup and I dunno if they make an easy to do, no brainer, for 305 TPI, cold air system. Or does somebody?

I doubt it would fit. Take a look at a picture of one and try to imagine it going in the same place on a 3rd gen. Instead of that, you can make your own FIPK. Cut out the bottom of the airbox underneath your filters and run some clothes dryer ducting down behind the foglights. Instant ram air. If you don't want to hack anything, you can at least remove the splash guards from underneath the filters...just make sure you don't run through any deep water! I killed a MAF that way.
