Remove the air baffles? Good or bad?

I decided to start modding my car and starting off with removing the air baffles that come right before the air filters. How do you guys get 'mod' that part? Do you simply cut out that curved baffle or cut holes in them? Is there some gain in the 'butt dyno' like the tech articles said there was? I really don't like to cut holes in my car, unless it's something good. I wanted to make sure that I'm doing something right. Don't want to make a mistake that cannot be repaired. Better safe than sorry!

I took out the two little curved black plastic pieces under each filter and then later cut out the whole thing directly under the filters. Then there is a large black plastic piece under that, which I cut holes in to fit 5 or 6" tubing i think, and hooked up ram air...just make sure to get a good filter with a screen on it like k&n's

I see. Did it give you a noticable increase in power or anything like that?

Yes, its definitely an increase you'll see at the track. We did it to a 92 L98 Z28 at the track and he picked up some time. It was 3 months ago so I forget now, sorry.
