I recently pulled my plugs on my still yet stock 305 block b4 i was gonna start my moddin. I noticed some oil deposits and compared it to the famous haynes spark plug guide and it said that i may need a vale job or replace my piston rings is this true?
HELP!!

 

Depending on miles and condition of the engine maybe just your valve stem seals are tired.

Replacing them is very inexpensive, and it isn't too labor intense. Just requires a source of compressed air, a spring compressor and a few hours...

If you dont have a compressor you can bring the cyl. your working on to TDC.and the valve will rest on the piston.This works for me.I dont like the idea of air holding the valve up.Its a bitch to drop a valve
