Code 34 and hard starting - 88 LB9
My GTA has two issues. Whether or not they are related, I don't know yet.
Just a little background. Back about 4 years ago when I actually drove the car, I'd throw a 34 sometimes on startup, but the car ran fine. Since then the car basically just sat until this year when I started driving it again.
I get the 34 almost every time I start the car. As before, the car runs fine, and my auto x-ray shows that the airflow count is right where I expect. I swapped in a spare MAF with no change. I think I replaced the power and burnoff relays back before I parked the car, but I will probably try replacing them again incase sitting caused the contacts in the relay to oxidize.
The other issue is that when the car is warm, it starts hard. When it's ice cold it starts very nicely, and if the car has only been shut off for a few minutes it also starts nicely. Anywhere inbetween (say 10 minutes to 5 or 6 hours) requires a long cranking, then it fires very slowly. I thought that due to the two issues that maybe I had a leaky injector, but yesterday I put a fuel pressure gauge on it and it took over a half hour to 45 minutes for the pressure to drop to about 20lbs. I monitored the coolant temp (along with everything else) with my scan tool and found absolutely nothing that's abnormal. Anybody have a suggestion for what to check?

Jim, the MAF issue seems like it's going to be hard to solve. Usually it's always the MAF, or relays. I guess it couldn't hurt to replace the relays again.
As far as your hard start condition, it sounds to me like leaky injectors or a leaking FPR. I had a hard start problem after it sat for around 15 Minutes to a couple of hours. I sent my injectors to Rich and he confirmed a few of them were leaking. He fixed them and it has been great since. This is my fuel pressure drop with the leaky injectors:

After 30 minutes, my pressure was at 20lbs. So leaky injectors might not be out of the question.

wow, I wouldn't have expected leaking injectors with such a slow bleed-down in pressure. Maybe I should send my spare set of 19lb'ers to Rich and have him clean them up, then swap them in. After dicking with injectors in the Corvette all summer (and not done yet apparently), I was really hoping not to have to do the same thing on the GTA.
I never thought my IROC would wind up being the reliable one.
