Is Fuel injection system worth $1,900.00???
I am about to purchase an aftermarket fuel injection system from Summit. The brand is Edelbrock. Is this system worth it? Or could I possibly find something less expensive? I am getting this fuel inj. system on a Big block. This engine is giving out approx. 420 horsepower.

I did a brief glance through my summit (it is a couple months old) I only saw a conversion for pre-86 SMALL BLOCKS....it was priced at $1,900 as well.
Thats sounds pretty good to me,considering a new TPI setup cost well over 2 grand, and a mini-ram over 3. Of course these are small block setups.....
I noticed on the small block version you can get either a 4 bbl or 2 bbl system.
I assume you will get a 4 bbl for your big block version.
For what comes with the kit it looks like a great deal, and edelbrock makes a great product.
What made you turn to fuel injection?
Alot of guys with vintage iron hate it.

I decided with fuel injection I guess for reliability. I think carburation is actually easier to work with as far as troubleshooting but with fuel injection you don't have to adjust it frequently like u do with a carb. Some better fuel economy is also the reason. Any pennies I can save is good. I keep hearing stories about how fuel prices are going way up come summer time.
