I got a new o2 sensor and want to put it in myself. How exactly do I go about doing this?

Very simple. First, you need a special socket, it has a slot along the side to allow the wire to hang out it. Just undo the old, put in the new, connect and go.

What is the name of this special socket and where can I get one, like Autozone or Oreily's or Wal-Mart? Are they expensive?

 

Its called Oxygen Sensor Socket. Checkers I know carry's them, (I live in AZ), Autozone should too. It runs apx $7.00

My car had the original sensor on. I just let it run for 10 minutes, shut it off, sprayed some liquid wrench and it came off really easy with a plane ol' wrench.
