Would a big vaccuum leak make you lose power ?

Even since I put my TPI back toghether I have a vaccuum leak at the botton of one of the runners where it meets the baseblate. I think I put the gasket on backwards, since the gaskets were brand new and all the screws were torqued properly. The car feels good at part throtle, but WOT is slower then it usually is.. to the tune of about 5-6 tenths slower. This leak is pretty loud at idle, but the way I see it.. it just allows more air to enter that one cylinder. Why woudl THAT kill performance so much ? Also the car runs hotter... I'm planning to fix the leak tonite, but what do u guys think ? COuld thaT do it !?

At wide open throttle the amount of air coming in through the gasket leak will be minimal compared to the air coming down the runner, it should have VERY little effect. At idle or max vacuum situations, the effect will be more noticeable with that cylinder running lean because the air fuel ratio will be off. It should give you a rough idle. I would look somewhere else for you WOT loss of power.
