1989 tpi 305
hi ive got a 1989 iroc-z jasper rebuilt 305 waround 30k miles it. i have questions currently.
1. did the 305 tpi cars ever come stock with aluminum heads, i went to jegs for a tuneup and they showed no listing of it exsisting under the 305 cars, only 350s so now im not 100% sure.
2. what is the factory cam specs for a factory 305 5 spd car?
3. what did these cars run at the track as a trap speed from factory with 5 spd combo?
4. should headers, 3inch catback, air foil, k&n filters, afpr, 350 injectors, an aluminurive shaft, posi with 3.23 net me around a mid 90s trap speed (i got a 92 mph trap speed the other night with terrible 2.4 60 footers) so basically im curious if my engine has factory heads and cam because, tha seems like a pretty high trap speed especially for such a terrible 60 footer.
5. i do live in ohio and this car is my daily driver, would it be a terrible idea to unhook the cold start injector, because, i beleive im having some problems with it sticking intermittently currently, in other words will my car start this winter without it?

1. No, never. No thirdgen F-bodies aside of Firehawks had aluminum heads, that was a Corvette thing. To check yours, use a magnet.
2. What year? 89? 207/213 .415/.430 117LSA https://www.thirdgen.org/tech-data
3. Depends on your source. Anywhere from 89-92 MPH would probably be the norm.
4. Fix your 60' and you wont need all that. And the MPH doesnt sound unrealistic.
5. 89 doesnt have a cold start injector.

hmmm thanks a lot for the info, yah my heads are definetly aluminum so i guess whne i go to swap my 1.6 roller rockers on there and give it a tune up i'll check the head casting and report back to see my findings.
thats no good about the cold start injector seemed as if that would have had to be my problem lol o well thanks again very very helpful
