I know, it sounds really dumb, but seriously. Wouldn't a nice bead of sensor safe RTV be just as effective at sealing the runners. Or are gaskets really necessary to effectively space and seal the runners?
And if they are definitely needed, where can you get 'em the cheapest?

Well, maybe....I use RTV for the base and even the Cat. Converter and yes it takes the heat very well (still rubbery when I pull the cat off)

Ed, in my opinion yes. I have never ever ever heard of anyone using RTV to seal their runners. What a pain it would be to get them off. My plenum used to be off once a month cleaning it or making adjustments to whatever. It is just much easier to use a gasket than to use RTV. I wouldn't want any bits of it getting sucked into the intake either (not sure if it would do any damage but who knows. I mean we do use it on the back of the intake base right?). I also think it would be too much of a pain in the *** . I dunno. Anyway, for the regular sized runners, any local auto store should carry them. They usually carry an entire TPI kit which contains TB, IAC and other misc gaskets. For LTRs call up TPIS, that's where I used to get mine.

No, not necessary... but definitely easier to deal with. And Bill makes a good point too, you dont want a bunch of excess silicone in the intake.
