377 tpi
well I can finally buy my pistions and get it all put together. but, I wanted to know if any one is running a 377 tpi and what it runs. I used desk top dyno and it show only a 30 hp increase over my 350 should have I just bought twisted wedge heads instead. I still plan on getting them but, not for at least another year.
I sould also note I plan on using the slp 480/487 cam out of my 350

Well, the 377 is basically a better-breathing 350. It's the same stroke but with a bigger bore. That's assuming that you used a 350 crank in the 400 block. Also, the valves are unshrouded so you should see much more than a 30 HP increase with some nice heads and a decent cam. That motor will want to rev. So i'd use nothing less than an intake that's been ported to hell, or an aftermarket performance intake. You'll need tons of air to make that motor realize it's full potential, and it has TONS even though it's not that popular.

I plan on using a 88 350 block I have and use its standard bore. I have the int. balanced crank shaft for the newer block just need to get the pistions and bearings so on. just thought that maybe I should have spent the doe on some heads
I always try to avoid buying standard bore size pistons, because it's so hard to find a block that is perfect with standard bore. I suggest boring .030 and getting the 383 pistons.. that way they will be more usefull to you later if that block ever has a problem.
Internally balancing is a great idea too.
I believe you are doing the right thing going with a stroker crank instead of heads for a street engine.
