Baffled fuel tanks.... inside.

I have my 91 Z28 fuel tank out of the car and am installing a new sender and Walbro 255 lph fuel pump. Upon removal of the sender/pump assy, I noticed a plastic "shroud" in the rearwardmost center part of the gas tank, where the tank is deepest. It seems the pump/sock sit in this shroud, where the fuel is contained in a 4x9" plastic surround so the pump doesnt starve around hard corners. I've heard a myth of baffled tanks in 91-92's and 1LE's, but I don't know if this is what they're talking about. Anyone with earlier TPI thirdgens that have had their tanks apart care to share some insight? I'll try to get a pic ASAP.
