I checked the ohms cold and hot on all 8 stock original injectors with 100k miles on them.
Cylinder Cold Hot (measured in Ohms of course)
1. 17.6 17
2. 17.3 17.5
3. 17.9 17.2
4. 17.2 17.5
5. 7.5 5.8 yes thats 7.5 and 5.8
6. 17.1 17.4
7. 7 6.2 yes thats 7 and 6.2
8. 17.2 17.4
After wondering why my car starting piling up problems overtime like bucks at low rpms, idle surges some, wot didnt seem that quick anymore, I get quite a few knock counts for no reason at all throughout the rpm range, and somewhat hard cold starting after sitting overnight. I decided after driving the car for about a year to try to actually find out why the problems are starting to pile up.
I fixed spark plug wires problems, changed plugs under normal maint. nothing really changed. I had changed tps, iac, ign. mod, map, knock, o2 sensor about a year and half ago when I did my tranny upgrades.
I believe new injectors will solve all or most of this. The car still runs maybe 90% but I cant tell how long the injectors been like this. I checked them about a year 1/2 ago and they read all the same, but now it looks like now they are started to fade away.
Now I need to find some replacements.
Just thought I would make a thread telling people with Multec injectors to check those ohms resistance cold and hot from time to time when under the hood.

My '91 L98 immediately ran better, in all operating ranges, when I switched out the 56K Mi. stock Multecs and installed Bosch injectors.

Yeah I have upgraded many things on the car, however havent really touched the fuel except fuel filter.
I believe the stock pump is still strong however I will check pressures once I replace the injectors.
I was thinking about getting the ford svo ones, but also bosch, anything new should last awhile away.
These Multecs lasted about 100k miles and 16 years.
Looks like I am ordering a set somewhere soon, hoping to spend less than 250 shipped.

Go to summit racing. They usually have the best prices for injectors and fuel pump. If your going to get bigger injectors make sure to get a bigger fuel pump as well, or that the fuel pump can handle them. Also make sure that your injector wire harness doesnt have any shorts in it as well.

Yeah I havent been on the board as much as the past, since I got a 4th gen and 2 motorcycles I have been moving around trying different things, etc..
Now I want to bring back my thirdgen to better running condition. After I did a stall, trans rebuild, posi, drag radials I went to the track and was hitting 103 mph, since then the mph has dropped off back to under 100 I bet the fuel injectors have something to do with it since the car doesnt feel as strong as it use to.
If the injectors were a problem ow maybe I wont be getting knocking during my data-loggings and I can put back in some timing and take out some fuel. Right now I can smell the fuel at idle and I barely pass emissions.
I just bought the new accel 24's from summit and going to try those, for under 300 bucks it seemed like the best deal IMO, I can burn a chip soon with the injectors set at 24 soon after.
If those dont work I will switch over to the ford ones and get my money back from summit or accel.
I think my stock pump is ok for now, last time I checked my fuel pressure it was up there, I had to replace my fuel pump relay about 2 years ago other than that this has been my first fuel related problem.
I will replace the pump soon enough but right now I just want to fix whats broken and those injectors about had it.

wow man sounds liek you had the same problem i have now... just found out atleast 2 of my injectors are dead or so with very low ohm readings... thats why i had wot problems and saw a few knock counts during driving for some reason.
hopefully my car really picks up from fresh injectors...i want 12's!!

Re: I believe I found out why my car doesnt run at its best. (Multec injectors :()
Maybe I can hit 12s as well, but I need more mods or less weight for all stock tpi and stock unopened L9813.449 at 101.86 mph is my best and I think thats before my injectors starting going on me.
Yeah also I hit about the same times with only a 99 mph so, the mph lost didnt effect my times too much since I was launching even better.
I had some 2 to 3rd gear lagging, which was either tcc locking and/or too much knocking or both. Even since I starting chip tuning and logging I have been having knocking which needs to go away before I can add timing and take some fuel out.

Re: I believe I found out why my car doesnt run at its best. (Multec injectors :()
yeah i orders some new lt1 style accel 24's should be here Thursday or Friday.
I think most of my problems revolve around these two bad injectors, which happen to be 5 and 7 cylinder ones. which i am sure isnt good for the motor running with weak injectors for extended periods of time.
I am going to replace the injectors and not touch anything else and see what happens.
then i need to pull out my chip stuff and burn a quick chip after about a week of riding it with the chip i have now to make sure it fixed most things I felt was wrong with it.
I give an update after the install.

good deal man! you should be close wtih a great launch and good weather. i went 13.24 at 101.4 with a 1.74 60 foot. so with a launch you will be well on your way.

Update:
Injectors went right in no problems no leaks that I saw.
I pulled all the plugs and the 5 and 7 looked alittle whiter than the others but not bad. Anyway I changed the plugs and replaced two small vac. caps where the charcoal canister and egr went to on the throttle body because they looked alittle cracked.
Idle is rock solid now.
Starts right up when cold.
No sluggish low rpms and I didnt feel the bucking either.
