Track results
Went to the track last night and here is what happened:
Ran 7 times and got very consistent numbers.
Best run: 13.63@101.47mph
Wors trun: 13.68@101.23mph
Good news:
Rebuilt tranny is working like a dream keeping the times very very consistent (although it started to trip on me since last night)
Bad news: The car is not running what is supposed to run. Last time I ran it at the track it ran a best of 13.39 and a worst of 13.48. This was 6 runs and again, very consistent times.
Lesson learned: I will never lower my fuel pressure below 50psi with stock 22 pounders. I was running 44psi and 87Z-ya pulled one of my plugs and the thing was almost as white as my car.
I make no excuses, but I believed my times weren't as good as last time due to the fact that I have the right rear caliper sticking and killing my time.
Resolutions:
Find out what the hell is wrong with my overdrive (won't engage unless under mild load)
Fix brake caliper
Bump fuel pressure to 50 psi
End of report, Rick

Good time regardless. At least you know the root cause of the slower times. Probably the lower fuel pressure more than anything.

F22,
A s a fair comparison, you have to consider the track and air temperature, relative humidity, and barometer differences as well as the fuel pressure and brakes.
A lot of variables can affect your times, and correcting for the variables can be difficult unless you know the exact conditions under which your runs are made.

Well, temperature was a lot warmer and humidity was less than perfect. I still think the major factor are the brakes and the lean condition.
Rick
ps: I'll get it right next time
