Please Help!!

All right guys. This is my first time in the t.p.i. page. I am going to ask this question (and i'm sure it has been answered a million times) but i would like someone to list out for me every thing i will need to convert to t.p.i. Right now I have a 1992 R.S. with a t.b.i., lo3 (305). I am graduating from high school in about a month and with my money from graduation and what i have saved i would like to put a t.p.i. fed 350 or 383 into my now t.b.i. 305. I am willing to use new or used systems but would like to keep the total t.p.i. system under 1,000.00. Is this possible and if not what price range am a looking for. I would really like help on this so any response is appreciated a lot. Thank You! TWELLS

you'll need the intake, runner, fuel rails, injectors and all the other parts bolted or hanging off it, all the sensers, harness and ecm. lot of work, but not impossiable. better ask about the fuel pump too, i think there is a differance in tbi and tpi pumps.

THAT PRICE RANGE IS REASONABLE FOR A 350 MOTOR.ANYTHING HIGHER WILL NEED MORE GAS AND AIR=INJECTORS,PORTING AND PROM=$$$$$

I'm gooing to be the dark cloud here cause I think you won't be able to do it for under $1000.00.
First do you have a engine? If not and I didn't see you saying that you have one that is going to be most of the money! If you buy it used then, I would, want new pistons, rings and rods as well as a new oil pump just to say the least.
Then there is the question of heads. Will the used engine come with 350 heads? If you use the 305 you will be defeating yourself and not be useing the 350 to its fullest potenial. I think you can get corvette AL heads for about $400.00 but you'll need to port them out.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you don't have a engine, a 350ci, and you only have $1000.00 don't do it! Save your money till after college or till you get a job.
Now if you wanted to convert you 305 TBI to a 305 TPI then YES it could be done for under $1000.00 and if you port out the heads and intake and plenum then you'll see some good improvements.
Also headers and a good cat back exhaust will geatly improve the proformance.
But like ede said "lot of work, but not impossible".
Good Luck!

There's an article in tech section. And yes, the fuel pumps are different. About 30psi different.

Haven't been to track with new motor
If you have any questions on converting from TBI to TPI email me at jdkchevy70@yahoo.com
