Need to know who has the best parts to hop up my stock HEI distributor. MSD, D.U.I., Accel, who???. Do they have complete kits or do you have to buy the parts individually? No problems currently with the stock one, except that they all cut out at about 4200-4500 RPM.

If you have the type of distributor with the screw down cap (like mine) instead of the clamp down cap then you're limited! I think the screw down caps were only used in '86 and '87 tho so you might be lucky! If you know of any after market screw down caps let me know!! What I'm doing with my ignition is getting a good cap with brass terminals, a good rotor, and buying the $225 MSD kit from summit that comes with the MSD 6-AL box which eliminates the in cap module, an adapter cap so you can use an external coil instead of the in cap crap, and an external MSD blaster II coil! If you use the MSD box you can't use stock solid core wires! Any aftermarket wires with spiral cores are fine to use! Personally, I'll be using the 8mm Moroso Blue Max plug wires!
