Re: fuel injectors

those are large injectors... i hope ur running over 500 hp.

dont get accels/venoms i heard they suck. do a search on the net and see who sells wat u want.

i went with 30lb ford SVO injectors which i heard are the best for my 500hp 383. they should be good enough for up too 550hp. then i'll start bumpin the PSI.

try ford SVOs, or bosh

Re: fuel injectors

ive looked at that site but they charge alot for the injectors. they have alot of injectors tho so thats good. they will give u a chance to see what u want exactly.

fiveomotorsports sells "red top" ford SVO 30# injectors for 349.99$

i got them for 219$ shipped to my door. so there are cheaper places.

Re: fuel injectors

A little pricey but I was finding it difficult to find injectors in the 36# + sizes.

Re: fuel injectors

i havent tried them, i was gona get them but then i did alot of research on the accels and alot of ppl said it was hit or miss.... some get them brand new and the flow rate drastically different from injector to injector, thats prob the worst cuz the car drives really bad and the only way to figure that out is to do alot of plug and play work/get them flow tested which cost $$ just to find out u got a bad one and then have to pay more $$ to get new one/ones. some get them and some just dont work at all. i was gona spend the 380$ for them and if im spending that kind of money im gona do my hw and get the best for my buck(im a college student money is scarce). while doing the research i heard that ford SVO's have a very very good track record and are a very good quality injector with really close fuel rates/dependibility/quality construction. if u ask most ppl they will tell u that the ford SVOs are great. not to mention cheaper, when u buy name brand u gotta remember that ur also paying for the name. do a search and sum research and see what ppl are saying... u cant really tune an injector by itself(they either work, kinda work or dont during there operation) they are reproduced so they all will not be the same/work the same, u tune the fuel maps and injector pulse width in the ECM that controls the injector, the injector is basically just a pressure switch, it gets a voltage from the ecm that opens the injector for a period of time and then closes it. fuel flows through the injector for that period of time with the pressure of the fuel in the fuel rail. what u dont want to do to any injector is work it above its duty cycle of 80% or more, then u wear out the injector causing heat etc.

i believe ford makes 36# or maybe 40# injectors bc thats wat the ford lightings upgrade there stock 30# too when they upgrade stuff. and ford SVO is the best product ford makes bc thats for there most expensive hipo cars/trucks

Re: fuel injectors

they have to have the right style injector and plug... i belive TPI is EV1 type, if its an EV1 type ford SVO injector it will fit the stock/aftermarket TPI setups.

just to be sure call and ask.

Re: fuel injectors

you said that i would have to the accels flow tested... well i would do that before they go into my car anyway (the owner of where i can flow test them for me) also if they are not flowing properly can they be rebuilt to do so?

Re: fuel injectors

u dont have to. im saying that from wat ive heard they are iffy with quality and them flowing within a close range of eachother... basically they arent consisnent from injector to injector, this happens to all injectors, u might not have a prob at all with them. if u can get them flow tested.... i would, most dont have friends that can do them lol. usually u have to send them out and its more of a precaution so its one less thing to worry about when u put it together... just to make sure everythings in working order. doesnt give u more HP(unless unflow matched injectors mess up tuning= loss of hp/drivabilty etc), usually if u get a quality injector u dont have to worry too much but sumtimes its just ur lucky that u get a bad one or w/e.

the injector cant exactly be rebuilt... they can take apart some of the injector to change a filter/screen in the tip that can get clogged and clean them out but for the most part if the injector is bad... it is usually just scrapped. so the answer would be no. injectors arent too $$ usually going for 40$ a peice for a hipo accel etc so to replace one isnt that bad.
