Belts come in different lengths, so if you don't want to use the pulley, you will need to go to your local parts store and get a shorter belt.
You can take a piece of string and route it as you would your new belt. Then measure the length of the string and that should give you a rough estimate of the belt length you need.

search a/c delete pulley at summit.com I think I paid about 19 bucks for mine last year. Works fine looks good.

Yes they make A/C delete pulley's. I have one on my TPI 305. From GM I bought a 1985 s-10 heater box and kept the heater hooked up and everything.
