LT1 Intake

Im going to be using the LT1 intake on my 406 pretty soon and I was wondering, what gasket does everybody use? Even the Fel-Pro 1206 wont match up because the LT1 ports are so tall!! I dont know what to do without adding more metal..... Can somebody chime in on this one?

Re: LT1 Intake

You need heads that are compatible with the intake you want to use; or an intake that's compatible with the heads you want to use.

That'd be pretty much the same drill as what "everybody" faces.

I'm guessing .... no particular basis in fact or experience or anything, just a thought ..... that a gasket that would fit the LT1 intake, might be the LT1 intake gasket. Just a stray thought though, probably not worth paying attention to.

Re: LT1 Intake

I am using Fel-pro 1205 gaskets on my LT-1 intake, if your ports are too high it sounds like you have a LT-4 intake.

Re: LT1 Intake

The LT4 intake is supposed to bolt on Vortec head if you drill the old intake pattern in them.

Re: LT1 Intake

Well I dont THINK Im stuck with an LT4 intake..... atleast I didnt think so. Because I have a set of felpro 1206 which are a nice bit LARGER than the 1205 but when I line them up with the outer holes of the intake, the runners are like 1/16" lower than the hole on the gasket.......
