Map Sensor

I am interested in porting my plenum and getting the slp runners. I've to a 1992 L98 and have heard that doing so will screw with the MAP sensor and the car wont idle right. Does anyone have any info on the matter?

Re: Map Sensor

i recently bought the tpis indsider hints book from jegs and they discuss map sensor tuning as following: the map sensor is basically an electronic vacuum guage. when you do something to let more air into the engine, the map sensor will not see it, so it will not change amount of fuel going to the engine, causing you to run lean. the way correct this is to A) re-map the computer, via PROM tuning, or B) get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to manually add more fuel. ive never done something like this to my car, but this is what TPIS says.
