tpi fuel pump doesnt come on when ign is turned on.

got code 54, its a 85tpi. the pump doesnt come on anymore, used to just come on when engine is cranking after a while, but not anymore. oil pressure switch is good,
the ign wire is good to the computer, pump is good, relay is good, also the green with a white stripe wire from ecm to relay is good,(tells relay to switch) cant get the pump to turn on through the aldl, if i give 12 volts to the relay it comes on. the only cut in the wiring harness, is where th ecm fuse is. there is a orange wire and a black wire coming from the ecm fuse holder, the black then gets spliced into an orange and straight to battery +. any suggestions? how is the ecm fuse supposed to be wired out? hard to troubleshoot the 85, everyone has schematics for 86 and up. dave

Try to get your hands on a Mitchell Repair CD from a local garage. I also have an 85 TPI IROC. These are the best that I have found out of all of them. Easy to read, nice diagnostic flow charts, etc, etc. I had an intermittant MAF problem that eluded me for around a year, with this CD from my local garage, the car was fixed within 2 hours.
