Is there an adapter I can use to fit a crank for a 2 piece rear main seal into....

I'm building a 383 out of an '89 f-body block (1 piece rear main seal) but I am finding good deals on 2 piece 383 cranks. My question is, is there an adapter I can use to make this work (I think I heard that somewhere) and if so, is that way legit, or should I dish out the extra cash for a crank made for a 1 piece seal? Thanks.

Well I would get a new crank instead, but if you are really set on using an old used abused 400 crank, theres a bunch of companies that sell an adapter. Last time I looked (and Ill admit it was quite a while ago) GM had the cheapest and IMO nicest adapter.

If those 2 piece cranks you are looking at are new, keep in mind it just gives your engine an extra place to leak from.

i got a buddy selling a brand new lunati 4130 stroker crank for a 1 piece rear main block. its got lightening holes, made to stand up to 700hp, brand new in the box. its non-twist forged and its probably one of the best cranks you can buy short of a Sunny Bryant or Callies. Hes looking for about $1100 for it. drop me an email if your interested.
