oil leak... help

OK.. i have an oil leak that i originally thought was the drivers side valve cover gasket.. from underneath the oil appears to be running from the rear of the gasket... well i just pulled the valve cover and the gasket looked clean... could the leak be coming from the oil pressure sender unit or distributor??? how do i find out i cant see a thing back there...

Thanks

One suggestion,if your dip stick is driver's side like mine, could be coming from there. Also pull your distributor up and check the gasket, could be worn and if it is coming from the sending unit you should be able to tell after the distributor is pulled.

I had the same problem, it was coming from my oil sender. Car was idling for awhile and there was a nice little puddle when I moved. I looked under the hood and saw it dripping from the sender. Let me know how you make out.

go ahead and replace your sending unit. alot of times when they go bad they start leaking. just use some teflon tape on the threads and that will probably fix it.

good luck,
