Pulleys really worth it or not???
Have a '91 GTA 5.0TPI HO car with a '96 6-speed and '96 3.42 disc rear with headers, catback, air foil, plugs, wires, good tune up, coil, K&N, and other "little stuff", but am building a L98/ZZ4 for it and wondered if a set of pulleys would help. A lot of local guys I talk to say that ignition system and pulleys make a big difference (each seperately added). What ya guys think? Also, March or what? 2 or 3 piece? Any problems? Summitt, Jegs? Thanks for the help guys! Later

I have the March Power and Amp pulleys on my L98. If I gained any power, it was not enough to feel. I've heard guys say that it helps more on the top end since they have less drag and the higher the rpm's, the more they help. I don't know, but I would say definitely save your money for something else. I have not had any problems w/ them or any ill-effects (low batt. charge, etc.) at all, but I just didn't feel any SOTP difference.

I have put Underdrive pulley's on my present TA and my old 85 and both realized a .2 tenth gain in the 1/4 mile. They were both the march 2 pulley set, maybe I am the exception, but I have had good luck with them!

Pulleys are one of those little things that help with a bunch of other **** thrown on with it. I have the power and amp series and they work just fine. The 3 pulley system is just for show they are not worth the money at all there is no reason to underdrive the water pump IMHO. I personally didnt notice any SOTP increase but I am sure it did help a bit. I am now however having problems with charging since I removed the smog crap.
