My car has been acting Sh*tty for the last month. the Idle is like a roller coaster. it surges alot and sometimes stalls I have hooked 2 different scanners to it and they will read a reasonable value and then it i will go crazy for a second and then return.
what could it be. I really need to get it running soon. does any one know what to do? is my computer bad? and I only have 6 pins on my ALDL connector. is that what is should be??

Could be a number of things, take note of when it occurrs, cold, warm, hot. is it in certain temp ranges. All the time.

Mine would surge and stall till it warmed up because the temp sensor was bad. I checked it and it was fine, when I removed it I broke the plastic thingie, so I had to get another one.

I replaced the temp sensor in the manifold. what makes me confused is the scanner crap for example the temp sensor will read like 183 degrees and about every 5 seconds or so it will drop to like 0 or somtimes even read -40.and the TPS is like .54 and will jump at the same time the coolant sensor and all the other readings jump. what could it be??

 

Possibly a bad or loose EFI ground. Check the ground connections behind the right side cylinder head.
