Help me get the best perfomance parts for the least money

Here are my main specs on my car zz4 w/stock tpi, 2.73 gears and 1850 stall. Other mods include headers, flowmaster, chip, k&n, etc.

Okay...I was told several things by several people on what to do: So far I think the thing I am definately do is get 3.42 gears.

Now, for the intake: Do I port the whole stock system? How much could I expect to pay and how much would it pay off?

What about ltr's and big mouth manifold? Together they are $950!!! Is this worth all the money over porting just what I have now stock? I want mid 12's at least (I currently run 13.30 @ 106), and I would like to get there the cheapest way possible. :0) Should I just go carb then? If so, THEN what do I get?

As far as the intake goes you'd probably be better off getting a new one. The isn't all that much room for porting on the stocker, although I have heard that theres a guy on here that will make it flow like a big mouth manifold. If your really serious about track times the miniram is the best bet in my opinion. I think going carb is like taking a step backwards, but i could be wrong. With bigger gears and a bigger torque converter (closer to 3000RPM stall) the miniram should give you excellent performance. Alot of people say that you'll lose torque with the MR, but if you search the boards for some threads by TRAXION you'll get all the info you need. BTW you'll want better heads first before you get the MR or it won't do you much good. Are you running stock heads?

The gears and converter are a very good idea. You can get an edelbrock manifold and port it for cheaper than the big mouth (it is a ported edelbrock TPIS grinds off the name). I have SLP runners and they are cheap but only get them if you have a fair amount of porting experience because you have to port them to make the same power as the AS&M or TPIS. Also check out items for sale on this site and on ebay you can find grate prices sometimes. The miniram and superram systems are great but you said for the least money and they will cost you.
